Day 19 The Proof of the Spirit But if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. (Romans 8:13-14) |

How can you know for certain that the Spirit of God is leading you? Just as you know when you are hungry or pleased, so will you know that the Spirit of God is leading you, for the Spirit of God is more distinguishable from all other spirits than any of your natural affections are one from another. God is unwearied patience. He is eternal grace. God is unmixed goodness and He is universal love. His delight is in the communication of Himself to everyone according to each person’s capacity to receive Him. He is the Good from whom nothing but good comes, and He resists all evil with goodness. If it is your greatest desire to be merciful as He is merciful, to be full of His unwearied patience, to dwell in His unalterable meekness, to love as He loves, and to communicate with others in love, you can be sure that the Spirit of God lives, dwells, and governs in you. However, if you lack these virtues, any presence to try to be like Him will be vague and groundless. The Spirit of God Himself assures us of His presence and His leadership. Anybody who yields himself in childlike faith will know that the Spirit of God is leading him. And he will grow more and more to be the person God wants him to be. Thank You, Lord for Your Spirit who leads me every day and enables me and motivates me to be like You. What is God saying to you right now? Jot down those thoughts and pray them back to Him.
