Day 3 |
---|
Caleb Day 03 I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. |

Caleb had good reason to be depressed. He was at the prime of life during the spy mission, but forty-five years had passed because of others’ failure of faith. At forty he had counseled the people toward Canaan; but now he was eighty-five. Were these words mere boasting, as men of all ages are inclined to do? Maybe not. Perhaps Caleb had set a path for his life as different from the mainstream as his faith had been a generation earlier. Knowing his mission, frustrated at delay, he determined to keep himself in shape—and in full faith—for the day the Lord would say, “Go!” Thus Caleb, courageous at forty, was ready for the most important work of his life at eighty-five, brimming with faith and high expectation. Far from diminished or beaten, Caleb had a confident attitude that survived the wilderness wanderings. He was ready to lead Judah into Hebron. Does your life march along with dreams frustrated and goals unmet? Take a cue from Caleb—each day ready, each day hopeful. Take heart and keep strong! Your life’s journey is in God’s hands. Be ready for surprises and always keep faith. What is God saying to you right now? Jot down those thoughts and pray them back to Him.
